Vehicle Tracking Services Company Sponsors Private Sector Fleet of the Year Award
This autumn sees the return of the annual GreenFleet awards, being held on the 7th October at the Emirates Stadium in London. TRACKER, the UK's leading provider of vehicle tracking and telematics is showing its support for this prestigious event by sponsoring the Private Sector Fleet of the Year (below 250 vehicles) award.
Stephen Doran, Managing Director of TRACKER, comments, "We are very excited to be involved in the GreenFleet Awards. The event demonstrates the pivotal role manufacturers and fleet managers have to play in tackling climate change, by recognising the success of organisations who have taken steps to reduce their carbon output. As such, we are proud to sponsor the Private Sector Fleet of the Year award.
The Private Sector Fleet of the Year (below 250 vehicles) award is awarded to a private sector fleet organisation with less than 250 vehicles that can demonstrate a reduction in CO2 through fuel-efficiency programmes, green fleet management and driver training. Now in their 12th year, the GreenFleet awards aim to award the success of fleet managers and manufacturers who have devised innovative and pioneering ways to reduce the carbon output of their fleets. This year, 19 awards will be given to both private and public sector fleet organisers for their efforts in environmental fleet management and low carbon motoring.
Doran concludes, "As these awards highlight, with concerns growing on the environment, greater emphasis is being placed on businesses to reduce their carbon output – with particular pressure on business that produce a high level of CO2 as a by-product of their service. TRACKER's fleet tracking assists fleet businesses by enabling them to track their employee's driving and make proactive changes to improve fuel efficiency. By reviewing and devising quicker routes for drivers, fleet business can not only save money but drastically reduce their carbon output –potentially leading to a GreenFleet Award in 2011!"
